What will I need?
Below you will find a list of things, some of which are required when playing, some of which we recommend you bring if you can.
Required:
- Clothing - We require all players and monsters to wear a base of black clothing, ie comfortable trousers and a comfortable black top. And a pair of comfortable and practical shoes/boots.
- Nerf guns - If you have any nerf weaponry you want/can bring with you to either use as a monster or player character please feel free to do so. (Although player characters should note that at the start of the campaign they will be restricted in the size of their nerf weapons). On a side note we ask you take care when bringing nerf weaponry with you to a game especially if it has been modded and painted realistic colours. We are happy to let you use nerf guns which have been modded in this way but advise the more retro sci fi and colourful they are the more fun they will be to use in the game and the less of a risk with the police they carry when transporting them to a game.
- LARP safe melee weapons - if you have a particular Larp safe melee weapon you wish to or can bring to lend to other players please feel free to bring these with you. Ray guns (nerf guns) have a finite charge (darts/ammo) so no self respecting patrolman or woman will go out into the universe without a melee weapon. We do ask that all weapons, are presented to the refs for a safety check at the start of each game.
If I have it, can I bring it?
- Costume - of course! we love to see individual costume for player characters :) and to find out more about the type of costume check out the 'the world of S.P.A.C.E. article' or the 'S.P.A.C.E. Encyclopedia' page. We have a base kit requirement as this allows us to easily add props and costume 'cues' to monsters. The basic kit also allows player characters who may not have anything specifically tailored towards S.P.A.C.E. Patrol uniform/costume to wear the basic sash/tabard (which can be borrowed on the night) making them easily identified to the monster team.
- Props - if your character has specific items he or she uses regularly throughout the course of a game please feel free to bring these along to enhance your role play experience. (e.g. Patrolman Rick owns a pocket watch that used to be his great great great grandfathers, and has been passed down through the family and is now used by him to check the time) If you play a scientist who invents wild and wacky machines we would love to see them. Never feel scared about submitting a 'new invention' form to get your creation added into the game :) the world of S.P.A.C.E. is constantly changing with the input of its players :)
